Emily started as a student veterinary nurse with ourselves in 2019 during her BSc (Hons) Veterinary Nursing degree at Harper Adams University. During this period, she carried out research on brachycephalic regulations for improvement of welfare via breeding standards for her dissertation. She qualified in 2022 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
She has recently completed a Master’s Degree in Advanced Veterinary Nursing alongside attaining two Postgraduate Certificates in Advanced Veterinary Nursing for Oncology and Analgesia. For her Master’s dissertation, she carried out research on canine palliative cancer care to help improve perception of quality of life for owners and veterinary professionals.
Currently, she works amongst our ECC, medicine and wards team, night and day.
Emily did have a chocolate Labrador called Evie, who unfortunately lost her battle to cancer at 14 years but fuelled Emily’s interest in cancer patient care and research. However she is kept entertained by two cocker spaniels, Dex and Tia, when not working.
