Service in the Spotlight: Cardiology

Our Cardiology department is led by Antonio Moneva-Jordan, DVM CertVC MRCVS, who works closely with internal medic Kate Green, MA VetMB Cert AVP(SAM) MRCVS, and ultrasonographic Silvana Gomez, DVM MRCVS. The team are extremely experienced and can provide diagnostic and treatment for all types of cardiology conditions and cases, including:

  • Congenital Heart Disease
  • Pericardial Effusions
  • Murmurs (significant and localised)
  • X-ray and ECG reading
  • Acquired Heart Disease
  • Dyspnoea and Respiratory Distress
  • Arrhythmias
  • Heart Scoring

Meet the Team

At Moorview Referrals our team is made up of Specialists and Advanced Practitioners in ECC, Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Diagnostic Imaging who are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and a trusted service to you and your clients.

To ensure our service is the best it can be, we have developed a new clinical leadership team.

Our Clinical Leadership Team:

Christopher Green
Clinical Director
Joining the team in 2022, Chris is an Advanced Practitioner in Surgery and spends part of his time as a member of the surgical team. Chris qualified from Cambridge in 2004 and spent the first 14 years of his career in mixed practice.  

Vio Doran
Head of ECC
Vio, an Advanced Practitioner in ECC, joined the Moorview team in 2012. After graduating from Timisoara Veterinary School in Romania in 2001, Vio worked in Romania for 7 years in mixed and small animal practices before moving to England in 2008 ready for a new challenge.

Jess Bedwell
Head of Surgery
Jess qualified from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2011 and spent time working in a busy small animal hospital and charity practice before joining Moorview in 2016. Jess enjoys all aspects of surgery but has a strong interest in soft tissue surgery and completed her BSAVA certificate in small animal surgery in 2017. 

Kate Green
Head of Medicine
Kate qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2005 and joined us is 2015, after working in a busy first opinion practice. During her time in general practice, Kate developed a strong interest in small animal medicine, gaining the RCVS certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice with an emphasis on canine and feline internal medicine. Kate has special interests in cardiology and diagnostic imaging.

Team News:

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Sergejs Markuls, has taken up the challenge of fund-raising for Vetlife – an organisation whose work is close to all our hearts. He is training to run in the Leeds Endure24 ultramarathon this summer.

Having only taken up trail running last year, Sergejs aims to run 100 miles on a course in the city’s Bramham Park in a 24-hour period.

Dr Markuls has set up an online fund-raising page via JustGiving, in which he praises Vetlife’s “incredible network in helping veterinary professionals in challenging situations”.

Donations can be made by visiting www.justgiving.com and searching for “Endure24 or bust.”
